ABSTRACT
It had been an awful year for Katie. Her parents went through a bitter divorce and she was forced to move to another school, leaving friends and a neighborhood she loved. On top of that, her mother told her that she had to spend her college fund. This shattered Katie’s dream of going to college. The promise of government grants didn’t help her feel any better.
