ABSTRACT

In contemplation of this portion of the book, these words came to me. When one has a disAbling condition, one desperately hopes that this is only temporary. You hope that the doctors were wrong. You hope that you will wake up hale and hearty. You want to hope that you will be healed, that you will be cured, but you have been told not to hope, that this is how your life will be from now until you die. You

pray desperately. You beg and plead and make bargains with God. You want to lead a whole life filled with all the joy and activity of those whom you know. You want to be productive. You want to be seen as whole. So you hope, but not too loud.
