ABSTRACT

Imagine trying to get from Boston to San Francisco without a map. One could get stuck in a rotary in the Northeast and go in circles for days before figuring out the right exit. Who knows if you’d ever actually see the Golden Gate Bridge. Highly unlikely. That’s what it’s like to try and go through life without having a vision. You know you want to get somewhere and you know you want it to be a good place that you’ll be happy in, but you may have no idea how to arrive there or what route to take. It is critical in life to have a vision, a dream. Particularly when a person is trying to create a community of one, he or she needs to have an idea of what he or she is trying to create. Initially, that’s all it is, an idea. And a blurry one at that.
