ABSTRACT
The forum on theoretical work was convened successfully. I did not attend it
because I was writing a book in Hangzhou at the time, but I have read the briefi ngs
and other relevant materials. From the many inspiring speeches, I have learned
that the discussion about “practice as the sole criterion for testing truth,” as of last year, is of great signifi cance. As an issue about the proper line of thinking, it has
a clear bearing on the future and fate of the CPC and the Chinese people.
