ABSTRACT
Uganda’s education system, first launched by the missionaries and developed on British lines by the former colonial government, is now faced with the task of meeting the post-independence change in socio-economic and political needs and the aspirations of the country. It is centrally controlled and administered by the Ministry of Education in Kampala working through local education authorities, school boards of governors and management committees.
