ABSTRACT

The fi nal section of a research article is the Discussion/Conclusion. This is where researchers interpret their fi ndings, make practical applications, and try to fi t them into the big picture to answer their research questions. No matter what research design was used, no matter what type of data (verbal or numerical) were gathered, no matter how the data were analyzed (looking for patterns or statistics), researchers arrive at the same place: they have to make sense of what they found. They have to interpret their results and provide explanations, draw conclusions, and make applications. For these reasons, second to the abstract at the beginning of the study, this section is the most read part of the average study.
