ABSTRACT

This chapter sets out an indicative account of relevant land law related to the demands of property management. The property manager is well placed to have early warning of disputes and transgressions in relation to adjoining owners or between landlord and tenant. An informed and observant approach linked to a broad knowledge of land law should enable the property manager to recognise the existence of some irregularity. Where possible, steps should be taken to regularise the situation although it is important to recognise where detailed legal advice should be obtained to enable a satisfactory resolution.
