ABSTRACT

An ecology of mind is an approach to life – an ontological position – based on the recognition that individual and human well-being are dependent upon a diverse and viable environment. Our work (Chesters and Welsh 2006) argues that this ecology of mind provides a primary sense-making device – a frame – to guide action consistent with this recognition. The ecology of action envisaged is negotiated and refined through a process of reflexive framing involving multiple actors in an iterative process.
