Shortcomings in CLD provision in schools occur for a range of reasons and are a concern for key stakeholders as well as the profession and can include the following.

In terms of the Looking Forward (SCAA 1995) model of the aims of careers education (see Chapter 1), learning how, why and when to access careers information is a vital part of career exploration. The wider aspects of career exploration can be addressed through problembased interactive learning as represented by the left-hand tower of the bridge.
