ABSTRACT

Choosing the proper statistical analysis may seem like a difcult task, considering the large number of possible choices. However, this task should be easier with knowledge of independent and dependent variables, research approaches, design classications, and scales or levels of measurement. This chapter presents a series of decision steps and four tables that will help in making an appropriate choice of an inferential statistic. However, before presenting the decision tree and describing how to use the statistical selection tables, we review the concepts that are necessary for selecting inferential statistics.
