ABSTRACT

This chapter continues our discussion of how to evaluate the design and analysis of an empirical research study. The focus of our evaluation framework is quantitative research, but we think that most parts would apply to the evaluation of qualitative research studies as well; Q13 through Q19 discussed in this chapter would be especially applicable to the evaluation of qualitative and mixed methods research. Now, we continue our evaluation of the research validity of a study. First, we discuss the evaluation of overall measurement validity of the constructs, and then we evaluate three aspects of external validity.
