ABSTRACT

Human beings have more of a propensity to think more about the moment, the immediate, and the near term than they have a propensity to develop feasible long-term strategies. Additionally, most people, unless they have dedicated their lives to do otherwise, focus on addressing their own concerns before the needs of others (Leary, 2008; Ratelle et al., 2005). That being the case, instructors need to help parents arise above their own concerns and stresses and focus on the future of their children (Leary, 2008; Ratelle et al., 2005).
