ABSTRACT

REALIZING the seriousness of the situation created by the Japanese invasion which took place on September 18, 1931, China immediately informed the League of Nations then in session at Geneva of what had happened, and at the same time repeated her orders to the troops in Manchuria to retreat without resistance pending the action of the League. China also stated to the League of Nations that she was ready to place the whole Sino-Japanese controversy before the League and abide by its ruling.
