ABSTRACT
As noted, the selection of materials for sandtray therapy is a crucial aspect of the modality. We will be discussing the miniatures in the following chapter. First, however, it is important to take a brief look at the fundamental elements of the sandtray and the sand itself. We will also comment on the availability and use of water for the sandtray therapy experience. There are some sandtray therapists who use materials other than sand, which we will comment upon below. This decision may be affected by the setting in which one provides therapy. We favor the use of sand.
