ABSTRACT
THE economics of exile as applied to foreigners in the Far East have received unusual attention of late, both here and in our homelands. People who are not foreigners in the Far East have been concerned to point out that those who are have too good a time, while the Far Easterners have been equally busy explaining that such is far from the case.
