ABSTRACT

This chapter first summarises the background of the 14-19 curriculum, some of the problems involved in its development, and what we may expect from it in the future. The next section presents a ‘teaching 14-19 checklist’, which contains key hints and tips about general strategies and specific techniques to use with 14-19. We then introduce you to the place of ‘functional skills’ in the 14-19 curriculum and the chapter closes with mini case studies, intended to provide examples of successful working with 14-19 students.
