ABSTRACT
Although not generally remembered within the context of the Spanish-American War, General Nelson A. Miles was a major figure in the Civil War, Indian Wars, and the Pullman Strike. Miles was the Commanding General of the American Army at the outbreak of the Spanish-American War and this work provides a good summary of his command of the Puerto Rico Campaign.
