ABSTRACT
A student’s constitutional interests in higher education are in large part defined by the legal concept of due process of law. Due process has two aspects, procedural and substantive. This chapter deals with the former. Neither the Congress nor a state government can deny a person life, liberty, or property without due process of law. Stated another way-government can take away life, liberty, or property, but only with due process of law.
