Scientists use evidence and models to understand, and explain scientic phenomenon. is group can be addressed in activities focusing on history and nature of science concepts. Observations and data to back up a scientic explanation are considered evidence. Models are constructs that help us explain a scientic phenomenon, not simply copies of reality, such as the atomic model and biodiversity models. Scientic explanations refer to the interpretations and meanings made from evidences gathered. Hypotheses, laws, theories, and principles represent various forms of scientic explanations.
