ABSTRACT

Most prior research has focused on persistence during the fi rst two years of college. Th e Indiana Project on Academic Success (IPAS) also focused on persistence during the fi rst two years, although we expanded the range of populations and outcomes considered during the project. Persistence can be measured in a number of ways including both short and long term. While graduation and advancement to graduate school or career are the ultimate goal, measures of shorter-term persistence can identify key factors at the various stages of student enrollment.
