Beijing has scrapped plans for a ‘green measure’ of GDP . . . A National Bureau of Statistics official said a planned ‘green measure’ of national economic output that took into account the effect on the environment had been dropped because of problems over its calculation. Chinese leaders asked the NBS three years ago to draw up the index.
