ABSTRACT

Three decades of economic reform have had a significant impact on Chinese society as well as on management systems, enterprise performance and the wellbeing of workers. This chapter provides a conclusion to the book by revisiting the central themes, summarizing the key research outcomes of the previous chapters, and discussing the implications of research findings. This research has provided a holistic analysis of China’s economic reform through the linking of macro reform and micro issues as well as a consideration of the interaction and relationships between management, enterprises, workers and their households. This research framework was illustrated in Figure 1.1 of Chapter 1.
