ABSTRACT

Last week we discussed and compared certain types of models and tried to describe the state of a discipline by the type of models used according to the hierarchy of models and comparative systems developed by Kenneth Boulding. He uses nine levels or nine types of systems in order to classify levels of theoretical discourse according to their level of complexity and of predictive power:

1. The level of frameworks: only the geography and anatomy of the object is described and analyzed. A kind of system of static relations.
