ABSTRACT
This chapter is very much an extension of the previous chapter in the sense that we continue our examination of signs and symbols to begin to look at semiotics, the role of memory, the use of cultural objects and tools and the induction into groups, community and society. We continue our shift of focus from the individual to the cultural.
