ABSTRACT
We return, in this final chapter, to the question that began and frames this book: are we presently attending the demise of masculinity? Certainly, for many the answer is yes, and we had better do something about it. Articles in the popular media, even entire books, have been devoted to this issue, as we saw in chapter 1. Indeed, for many (the organization of the Promise Keepers, for instance), the end of masculinity (if this is in fact what we are looking at) signals also the collapse of society and the end of all things. Social chaos and barbarism await us, unless something is done to arrest and perhaps even reverse this Free-Fall of Man.
