System administration: getting the conditions right
It is not the group coach’s job to get the job of the group done; group members are responsible for that.168 The group coach’s responsibility is to ensure that the conditions are as favourable as possible to work. This ‘system administration’, attending to the total environment of the group, includes the impact of time on the group, the physical setting, membership of the group, and liaison with the organization.
