ABSTRACT
Cultural events and festivals are major sectors of the events industry and are key drivers of the tourism and service economies in all the major developed economies and in most countries around the world. Cultural events are hugely diverse in nature, from a Coldplay tour to the Cannes Film Festival and celebrations of identity and nationality. The calendar of festivals within just one country will inevitably be crowded with religious, seasonal and community festival events.
