ABSTRACT
Liberalism might be described as a theory of economics, and also a political
and economic ideology that shapes state policies. Its origins can be traced
back to John Locke (1632-1704). At the core of liberalism is the belief that
human beings are rational individuals. Individuals should enjoy maximum
freedom and the power of the state ought to be restrained to maintain
domestic order and personal security.
