ABSTRACT
The establishment of EMU and the FSAP drew attention to the governance of payment services and the clearing and settlement of securities. Although these financial services are often overlooked in the analysis of financial market integration, they underwent substantial regulatory reforms in the 2000s, which complemented the changes of banking and securities trading regulation discussed in the previous chapters.
