ABSTRACT

Being a successful coach is a challenging undertaking. An approach that works well with one athlete may not work at all with another. Coaches often need to spend a lot of time and effort thinking of and trying different alternatives to teach athletes certain skills and tactical awareness. Flexibility, innovation, and patience are the tools of a good coach. The feeling of satisfaction rewards the effort expended when a way is finally found to reach a particular individual. Nevertheless, coaches may feel frustration when the same method does not work with everyone and they have to renew the search for another approach.
