ABSTRACT

Even with the multiple jobs that can become part of the coaching role (particularly when travelling), if the only responsibility we had in our lives was coaching we would probably all cope fairly easily. Similarly, coaching would be less stressful if we always had access to the specific facilities and equipment we needed when we wanted them. In this chapter we recognise that most, if not all, coaches have many demands placed on them at once and that venues and equipment are often shared with other teams, sports, or activities. Because coaches have a limited amount of time, they have to learn to balance the demands of family, schools, clubs, jobs, professional organisations, and friends.
