ABSTRACT

In previous chapters, we showed how fundamental movements and movement inclinations are integrated within action patterns that develop in relationships from the beginning of life. In this and the next two chapters, we examine how these action patterns continue to emerge and evolve in adult life and constitute what we call embodied history. Here, we examine embodied history in parenting a baby; in Chapter 6, we examine in relating as a couple, and in Chapter 7, in the interactions of adult psychotherapy.
