Some conclusions

As the French author, Alexander Dumas, once said, All generalisations are dangerous … including this one.’ None the less, an overview of some of the strands of the foregoing chapter, and indeed the whole book, is necessary. These conclusions cover a variety of broad subject areas, within which there are clearly many individual elements and examples.
