ABSTRACT
This chapter is divided into three main sections. In the fi rst part, we introduce the concepts of warmth and control to set the stage for a discussion of notable parenting styles and typologies. These parenting styles demonstrate various approaches toward negotiating warmth and control. In addition, we discuss how the use of parenting styles is affected by cultural background.
