ABSTRACT

The phenomenon of “dialogical life” is the constant theme of Buber’s thought. It is also his main contribution to what might be called an ontology of human life. In the course of his development Buber introduced several terms for describing this phenomenon, such as dialogue, essential relation, the “between”. Though there is a slight shift in emphasis in the various terms, the essential idea is retained: the primacy of interrelation within the human scope.
