ABSTRACT

This chapter attempts to address the challenges facing educators in the 21st century that relate to college and careers. More importantly, providing college counseling in the 21st century will continue to play a critical role in helping students become self-actualized and successful in their lives. Yet the world has radically changed in the last 10 years, and those whom the people would counsel have experienced the impact of that changing world on their lives economically and in their learning experiences. Specifically, the people see the need for a twofold reflection on the challenges of the 21st century: on changes internationally, and on changes in the understanding of the learning process in the digital age. Providing best college advising practices in helping them to develop college readiness in its broadest sense including their learning and their psychosocial development is the people primary goal.
