ABSTRACT
This chapter fully explains the philosophy and concepts of quality assurance built upon the foundations of the certificated process model of ISO 9001:2008. The constituent parts of the model are presented and explored for the reader. The advantages of certification are provided, and the important issue of how to demonstrate compliance with the standard is discussed. A flow diagram designed by the book’s authors and incorporated within the text should prove to be a very useful tool for construction companies engaging in the implementational process.
