Defi ning key terms is the most important step in setting the domain for the metatheorising process. In this chapter, terms such as transformational and transitional change and organisation are defi ned to set the boundaries of the subject matter. Other important concepts such as metatheory, metatheory building and the holon construct are also defi ned and considered in detail.
