ABSTRACT
How do you explain the great attraction of the study of crime and criminal justice? It is often the subject of the most popular books, television shows, and movies. In all of those venues, reality almost always trumps fiction. The true crime drama, trial court coverage, and prison documentary seem destined to garner large audiences. By all measures the subject is interesting and important.
