ABSTRACT
Th is chapter contains two letters. In the fi rst, the child acts superior to others and cultivates the defense of manipulation and rejection of others to validate his position as “the best there is.” Underneath his bravado, the child who is truly insecure teases others, name-calls, and insults others in an attempt to perch on an illusionary pedestal.
