ABSTRACT

Except perhaps for the annual update on swimwear fashion kindly provided by Sports Illustrated, my most enthralling literary experience of each year is reading the abstracts of the meeting of the Society for Neuroscience, held in the year 2000 in New Orleans. From the 15,000 presentations, I have culled a number that might advance the theory and practice of neurosomatic medicine. In this section, I shall discuss pertinent abstracts, going from the beginning, designated Abstract 18.4, to the end. Because the number of abstracts is so great, I shall not give citations unless a discovery is of exceptional merit or relevance.
