ABSTRACT

Scientific enquiry questions could direct pupils to particular boxes of resources to use to investigate the question. All the questions could be displayed as a set in a box or you could place a different card out each week. I prefer to have all of the cards out because it’s fun for groups of children to work on different things at one time; less of the same resources

are needed and it helps children to apply a range of skills, some of which may have been learnt from another unit. Either provide a sheet for a specific way of recording/investigating or encourage pupils to make up their own method. To save on preparation time, pupils could follow the same procedure for every investigation. Write the titles on a piece of display card and permanently place at the area. For example, What I will use, What I predict, What I did, What I observed, Why I think this happened.
