ABSTRACT
Magnesium oxide (MgO) cement A cementlike material that produces much lower carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions than Portland cement. It uses MgO rather than calcium oxide, together with a lower-carbon method of obtaining the MgO. As CO2 is a major greenhouse gas, it is beneficial to the environment to reduce its emission whenever possible. MgO cement is also a good industrial binder.
