ABSTRACT
Stories, long and short, are everywhere in poetry. Story-poems are the first poems we encounter as children, in ‘Jack and Jill’, ‘Old Mother Hubbard’, ‘A Fox Jumped Up’, ‘I Saw Three Ships Come Sailing By’, and the rest.Their narratives are often short, but compelling, and sometimes take the form of nonsense verse.
