ABSTRACT
This is a book for teachers about reading poems with children, and practical ways of encouraging them to write poems. It is intended both as a compendium of useful activities, and a classroom-orientated way of suggesting that all teachers who read poems can teach poems and that all children can write them. It is perhaps a timely book, in that it fits with recent more ‘liberal’ shifts towards creativity in the National Curriculum Literacy Strategy.
