Developing play

The emphasis on a play-based approach to delivering an early years curriculum is generally welcomed and recognised by early years practitioners. Indeed, the role of play as a medium for early years curriculum delivery has been emphasised by the Department for Education and Employment (2000) in the Curriculum Guidance for the Foundation Stage.
