ABSTRACT
The parish priest was talking to our children about our relationship with God: ‘If you could live with anyone who would you live with?’. The usual responses came out such as footballers, pop stars and celebrities generally. What also came from this very simple question were some important insights into children’s lives. One child said he would like to live with ‘people who don’t argue’ and another wished for ‘someone who can change me’. The message we try to give to parents is to get the support now, before the child – and themselves – become lost in the system.
