ABSTRACT

The purpose of this session is to differentiate teasing from embarrassing feedback and train effective strategies for both. Often the terms teasing and

bullying are used interchangeably. Teasing and bullying will be uniquely defined for parents and teens to avoid confusion: the term teasing will refer to verbal attacks; the term bullying will refer to physical attacks or threats. The strategies for handling verbal and physical attacks are quite different and the latter will be addressed in the next session.
