ABSTRACT
The judiciary (as at 1st April 2007) consists of 4 heads of division, 12 Lords of Appeal in Ordinary (Law Lords) (who will become judges of the Supreme Court following the implementation of the Constitutional Reform Act (2005), likely to be implemented in 2009), 37 Lords Justices of Appeal, 108 High Court judges, 639 circuit judges, 1,206 Recorders and 450 district judges.
