ABSTRACT
Westerns, War and Pirates – although fashions can change and as new bestselling
books and blockbuster films appear, writing these kinds of tales might catch on a lot
more. There is also the option of pupils writing ‘mainstream’ stories about the lives
of ordinary people including themselves and their friends, though remembering to
be sensitive to people’s feelings, their privacy and the laws of libel!
